~*Miss Jacks*~

Miss Jacks in another of my original, needle punched dollies. She is decked out & ready for the holiday festivities. Like my other dollies, she has been punched on quality weavers cloth with cotton threads. She has a stuffing made from fine sawdust & is backed with an early~look, gold calico print. The edges of the dolly have been trimmed with handspun wool yarn and my favorite linen thread. I have stitched 3 shoe buttons to her blouse area for added charm. She measures about 7 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches.

For a special treat ~ Miss Jacks comes with one of my clove~filled Jack-O-Lanterns! I've had fun making these this year.... but have had trouble keeping many on hand. They are charming lil' ditties... and smell yummy too!

Cost is $60.00 plus Priority travel fare of $4.75... insurance is free at your request.

Sold thank you!!!

Miss Kitty is yet another of my original, needle punched dollies. She too will come with one of my unique, clove~filled Jack-O-Lanterns. Using the same materials as Miss Jacks.... the two would make great companions. Miss Kitty has a vintage, bone button on her waist & a string of rusty jingle bells around her neck. She is about 7 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches.

Cost is $60.00 plus Priority travel fare of $4.75... insurance is free at your request.

Hello my friends! My name is Betty Dekat. Thank you for sharing your time with my picture trail. I am a fiber, folk artist. My passions for creating are with rug hooking, needle punch, ‘tiny’ stitches, and occasionally sewing up raggedy prairie dolls.

In 1992, I graduated with an Art degree from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. I often say though ~ that I am now teaching myself to forget all I was taught in school. I strive to have my works have the ‘pure-primitive folk art’ look…. the appearance of the untrained-artist.

I am married to my best friend , Tony (who is very handsome too). He is a wonderfully, supportive husband and has given me the opportunity to fulfill my dreams. Together we have three fabulous boys ranging in age from five to twenty-three. Although we live in the country, we are not farmers or ranchers. We do however have a beautiful wheat field just outside our backdoor. We love the simple, quiet life the Kansas prairie offers us.

Please stroll through my picture trail  also and don’t hesitate to contact me with any comments or questions. Many warm smiles to you….. Betty

~*The Crow Said CAW*~  Hooked Rug

Using quality woolens and linen backing... I've created this charming rug to welcome the Fall season.  It measures about 13 1/2 by 10 1/2 inches.  I've used a variety of wools ~ both as-is and hand dyed ~ to create this olde looking ditty.  I've finished it by simply turning the backing under and stitching it down with linen threads.  For that added charm of olde... I've given it a lil' bit of stain with my walnut & spice mix.

Cost is $50.00 plus Priority travel fare of $4.75... insurance is free at your request.
