Fraktur Bird Punch Needle Embroidery

This design was based on a fraktur watercolor I did a couple of years ago. I used 3 strands of hand dyed cotton thread to punch the bird, stems, leaves, and flowers on weaver’s cloth. The needlework was then mounted on a linen background and edged with small diameter jute. The vintage wooden frame is painted brown, with light distressing, and given a hand rubbed beeswax finish. It measures 6” square and the opening is 5 ½” square. Ready to hang.

Harvest Baskets / Ivory Note Cards

These cards are made from copies of my watercolor frakturs. The autumnal watercolor features a basket overflowing with berries, pomegranates, and flowers in fall hues of golden yellow, bittersweet, olive green, and sepia brown. The sepia and blue watercolor was inspired by the PA German frakturs of the late 1700s and early 1800s. It was worked in shades of colonial blue and sepia with an intricately detailed border. I printed high resolution scans on matte photo paper, cut them out with deckle edge scissors, and affixed them to the front of each card. This set consists of 6 factory made IVORY cards and envelopes (4" x 5 1/2").

There are 3 of each design

$10 per set (plus $2.00 shipping in the US; outside US ~ please inquire)
